Feeding Texas - Community Capacity Corps CTFB [Austin, TX]

Feeding Texas leads a unified effort for a hunger-free Texas. We assist hungry Texans through a statewide network of twenty-one food banks, lead the public discussion on hunger in Texas, and strengthen the anti-hunger movement through collaboration and capacity-building. The Community Capacity Corps is an innovative program focused on alleviating the upstream, economic causes of hunger as well as the downstream effects of hunger on health. VISTAs will build educational, economic, and healthcare partnerships to increase client access to new services, and strategically incorporate the voices of hungry Texans into the public conversation on hunger through the Storybanking Initiative. Our VISTA Program provides an opportunity to jump into nonprofit and food bank work a step above entry level, with ample personal support and training. Whether you plan to go back to school, continue in food banking, or just gain workplace experience in a nonprofit environment, Feeding Texas can help you excel during and beyond your year of meaningful service.
