Volunteer Empowerment Project - IRC Summer Associate
 
 
 
International Rescue Committee 1.Employment- *Restructure job readiness training *Assist clients with all other aspects of job search, placement, and post-placement activities. 2.ESL Program Integration- *Implement ESL classes, through: recruitment and coordination of teachers (Associate or volunteers), distribution of materials, and continued coordination with participants. *Integrate ESL and Digital Education into core resettlement services 3. Education- *Organization of enrollment for refugee children 4.Health- *Engage in mental health screening process, and examine potential for process improvement in screening, associated referrals, and skill building. *Support MH program coordinator in improving access to mental health resources and psychosocial group development for refugee individuals and families working with IRC. *Help in improving access to health care 5.New Roots Farm- *Develop and refine materials to assist with farmer training, increasing supplemental income generation, and employment skills. *Develop farm site place making and land management projects that increase the productivity and success of farmer operations 6.New Roots Market- *Develop volunteer recruitment and management system to establish or expand pool of volunteers to assist with food access *Increase community awareness and engagement to expand community knowledge and support of the Sunnyvale Market food access initiatives. 7.Spice- *Act as a Market Liaison *Support development of the Café and Storefront at the new Spice Kitchen facility

Member Duties : The members will be working in education developing plans to recruit volunteers, creating a database to help families more efficiently, and creating summer programs at the International Rescue Committee in Salt Lake .
