2023-24 MFS AmeriCorps - Hunger Relief
 
 
 
Through their service at sites in the Greater Portland area, MFS AmeriCorps Members support the agency's three critical community initiatives: 1. Strengthening early childhood development and building youth success through collaboration and innovation, so that every child gets a good start in life and has the opportunity to grow into healthy, educated, productive, and engaged members of our community. 2. Developing and promoting effective approaches to community-based health and wellness throughout the lifespan, so that people are equipped to play an active role in their well-being and societal costs for healthcare can be reduced. 3. Advancing individual and family economic well-being, so that people in our community can live with dignity, security and purpose.

Member Duties : To learn more about our positions and application process please visit our recruitment website at https://www.metfamily.org/americorps/. The Hunger Relief member supports school-based pantry services and programs across multiple sites and will: Support efforts to create an inclusive and welcoming pantry environment - sample stations, activities for kids, partner tabling, family resource stations; develop and support processes for getting client and volunteer feedback on Hunger Relief services; participate in general pantry and Open Market preparation and setup; assist with workshops and demonstrations; support resource and referral efforts for MFS families and clients across all MFS programs; recruit and coordinate community volunteers to support Hunger Relief programs; and lead & support culturally-diverse events and activities. The position is located in Portland, Oregon.
