Virginia Housing Alliance - project:HOMES

Virginia Housing Alliance’s (VHA) VISTA project is a statewide project that works to expand affordable housing opportunities and end homelessness throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. VHA’s VISTA project aims to develop viable communities by promoting integrated approaches that provide decent housing, suitable living environments, and expansive economic opportunities for low and moderate-income persons. Project:HOMES has improved the quality of life and housing conditions for low-income Central Virginians through critical home repairs, accessibility modifications, energy efficiency upgrades, and quality affordable homes. The VISTA member will help create a media, branding, and outreach strategy that successfully communicates Project:HOMES’ impact to volunteers, funders, and the community in which they serve. The goal of this project is to raise Project:HOMES’ profile in order to increase community engagement and draw in new donors and partners to expand services while better serving the community.

Member Duties : The VISTA will build upon existing plans and work towards developing, implementing and documenting sustainable marketing and outreach strategies that will expand organizational capacity to raise awareness about and support for project:HOMES’ programs. VISTA duties will include creating media content to engage stakeholders and expand networks with government officials, community partners, and other targeted audiences to participate in program events. Other VISTA activities will include improving current procedures and forms in place for the agency’s community engagement and data practices. Additionally, the VISTA member will research best practices as it relates to a project:HOMES services and present it to the Junior Board.
