AARP Fdn Exp Corps 21-22 Recruit & Retain VISTA
 
 
 
The AARP Foundation Experience Corps Recruitment and Retention VISTA will expand program capacity to recruit and support senior volunteers, increase the number of volunteer tutors at schools and after school youth organizations and retain their service for a more positive volunteer experience to attract more recruits. More tutors means more students will benefit from AARP Foundation Experience Corps tutoring.

Member Duties : Attend trainings given by AmeriCorps and AARP Foundation Experience Corps to gain a greater understanding of the goals of the program, modes of employment and community being served. Attend community meetings and meet representatives to identify points of intersection to better serve those living in poverty. Represent AARP Foundation Experience Corps at events such as health fairs to learn, gather information, promote and recruit. Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment plan that includes conducting outreach and incorporates knowledge of the community being served. Determine and enroll the designated number of tutors to execute the program within the current school year. Employ social media to broadcast activities to the community at large. Update descriptions, trainings and registration packets. Create a recruitment base knowledgeable and reflective of the community being served. Track prospects, interview, onboard volunteers and orient to the program.
