CCNYPA Slippery Rock University Opioid Prevention VISTA

The VISTA’s primary activities will focus on building the capacity of Butler County government and nonprofit organizations to address poverty resulting from the growing opioid crisis in our region which delivers barriers to employment, adequate health care, educational attainment, and public safety. This project focuses on strengthening our regional nonprofits’ capacity to address re-entry, recovery, individual and community resilience, and workforce development. Using a collective impact* approach, the Institute will serve as the County’s backbone organization to 1) identify gaps in delivery of services focusing on in re-entry, recovery, individual and community resilience, and workforce development; 2) facilitate discussion among relevant parties to determine how best to address gaps; 3) develop a County-wide, cross-sector strategic plan to address the issues; and 4) provide training and technical assistance necessary to implement the plan.
