C.A.R.E Clinic VISTA, IA & MN Campus Compact Community Corps
 
 
 
CARE Clinic is an integrated safety net clinic that exists to improve access to affordable health care for low-income residents of Goodhue County. The goal of CARE Clinic’s VISTA project is to improve access to dental care. Our dental clinic provides restorative, preventative, and urgent dental care to residents who otherwise would not have local access to oral health care. The clinic accepts state subsidized insurances or charges a nominal for uninsured patients. CARE Clinic ensures that no patient is turned away due to inability to pay. C.A.R.E. Clinic’s mission is to contribute to the Community by improving health care Access, connecting people to Resources, and promoting health Education. In addition to the dental clinic, an integrated clinic continues to operate weekly, providing medical, dental, mental health care, MNsure assistance resource connection, telehealth, COVID-19 testing and vaccination. CARE Clinic is seeking a Development Coordinator to build the financial and program capacity of the organization to more effectively serve our patients. If you are interested in a medical, dental, non-profit, or public health career, gain valuable experience and join this dynamic and passionate group of volunteers and staff; MAKE AN IMPACT! This project is part of the Community Corps VISTA Program, operated by IA & MN Campus Compact. The program strives to eliminate poverty through campus-community partnerships by placing full-time capacity building support in nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions. There are three focus areas, this project being in the Health Corps, which supports sites in long-term approaches to the social determinants of health. This includes meeting low-income student needs and a variety of projects with health-focused community organizations. Please also send cover letter and resume to supervisor. Member Duties : Goal: Develop community outreach program and financial support to serve the low-income population utilizing the clinic and expand the population being served. 1. Increase funding streams and evaluation strategies to expand dental care to low-income patients 2. Increase outreach and partnership so 100% of Goodhue County School children from low-income households will be offered in a culturally and linguistically competent dental 3. Increase capacity to improve Goodhue County’s ranking as the 85th, out of 88 Minnesota counties, for providing dental care access for Medicaid enrollees 4. Provide resources on oral health during pregnancy and after birth, to improve maternal and infant oral health Professional development opportunities will be offered by CARE Clinic through the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN), National Association of Free Clinics (NAFC) and more. MCN Nonprofit management summits and grant writing classes will be provided for AmeriCorps members.
