UWCCR Wellspring Communication and Development VISTA

Wellspring Women's Center provides drop-in respite services based on “hospitality with dignity and love.” We are open weekday mornings from 7:30am-11:30am. We are open by appointment in the afternoon for counseling, case-management and scheduled groups. We serve a nutritious breakfast and guests receive support as they struggle to move from “simply surviving to thriving.” In 2019, Wellspring Women’s Center provided 35,365 meals through the breakfast program. Further, we offer various enrichment classes such as parenting, yoga, nutrition, cooking classes etc. depending on the expertise of our staff, interns, partners and volunteers. We have a special arts program, “Art of Being.” This program offers crafts, art workshops, and expressive art therapy groups to our guests. While at the Center, children can participate in the Children’s Corner where they are given supervised play and learning tasks. Our Licensed Clinical Social Worker offers professional counseling at no charge. We have Social Work student interns who also offer counseling, case management and referral services to other agencies in the community when our guests or their family members have an identified need. Our qualified staff of seven and over 100 volunteers provide our daily services. We also provide special cultural celebrations, a Mother’s Day Brunch, our ‘12 Days of Christmas’ Celebration, etc. Staff and volunteers offer listening ears and warm hearts to an average of 200 women and children who come daily to Wellspring.
