ABCEOI is a Community Action Agency providing social services in Adams and Brown counties. The Agency’s mission statement is ...To work towards the elimination of poverty or its causes; to help people and families achieve self-sufficiency; to provide safe, affordable housing for mental health clients, low-income families, elderly, and handicapped; and, to meet the needs of the community...To study, plan, encourage, contract for, and administer programs aimed at increasing opportunities for the victims of poverty; to receive, administer, and disburse funds from whatever source received for those purposes; to employ and make available professional staff services for such purposes. There are twelve departments within the agency with each department having its own director and each department director reporting to the Executive Director and/or Deputy Director. Departments include: Fiscal, Housing, Housing/Energy, Recycling/Business Development, HEAP, Child Care, Home Care, Reproductive Health and Wellness Program, Senior Nutrition, Transit Management, Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and Workforce Opportunity Investment Act. The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is run under the Senior Nutrition program, but has assistance from the administrative staff.

Member Duties : Assist with ordering food, accepting and inspecting food deliveries, arranging for return of unacceptable food supplies, loading vans for food deliveries to consumer homes, outreach to consumer homes and to our partners, data collection, entry and analysis. Additionally, you will conduct appropriate outreach activities to inform the public of the SFSP. This will include, but not limited to creating and distribution of fliers, post yard sign, distribute menus, and create social media posts. Associates will assist in coordinating meal routes to ensure children with lack of transportation receive nutritious food throughout the summer.
