815 Outside-Outdoor Education and Recreation
 
 
 
815 Outside is a partnership between the natural resource and nature education organizations in north central Illinois. This initiative is an effort to make people more aware of the public green space we have available and the recreation opportunities available on these lands and waterways. This AmeriCorps position will support 815 Outside by: - Communicating about the 815 Outside initiative on social media, public events and other media outlets as available - Organize the partner groups to keep the initiative moving forward - Work with local health care providers to get 815 Outside into their marketing and programming - Keep 815 Outside group up to date on national trends such as Nature Prescription and Park Rx - Organize walks and other activities on different public lands to encourage outdoor recreation - Help establish partnerships with other community organizations that would benefit from 815 Outside This is a 1200 hour position that will receive a cost of living stipend of $15,600 and a federal education award of $4,826.50 upon successful completion of the term of service.
