Associate, VISTA Horizons Student Enrichment Program - ATL
 
 
 
ThisAmeriCorps VISTA position is ideal for an individual who wishes to gain varied, high-level experience with a leading Atlanta nonprofit in the education sector. Horizons Atlanta is unique in its scale, its expansion targets, and its partnerships with private and public schools throughout greater Atlanta. The individual in this position will work directly with the Executive Director, Director of Development, and Regional Program Director to support the program for 1,400+ K-8 students across ten metro Atlanta Horizons sites. The VISTA will have the opportunity to work closely with an established and influential board of directors and with highly experienced education professionals. They will be included in a wide variety of meetings and professional development opportunities. This position is ideal for someone who is committed to pursuing a career in nonprofit leadership, with a particular focus on K-12 education. Atlanta is an exciting city for young professionals. This service opportunity provides exposure to many of Atlanta’s most notable educational, cultural, and philanthropic institutions and leaders. The ideal candidate for this position will be a natural communicator: someone who is able to synthesize detailed information and communicate it with the appropriate voice, level of detail, and personal relevance to multiple audiences. They should be very organized, comfortable with online communication and productivity tools, and able to juggle simultaneous projects. No specific experience is required, but we will look for demonstrated excellence in communications and in project execution.

Member Duties : The VISTA will serve in a variety of ways, including: - Implement creative strategies for fiscal sustainability: grant research/writing/reporting, event planning and donor cultivation/stewardship; - Explore and facilitate initiatives to expand family and community engagement in support of each of the ten program sites; - Develop tool kits containing best practices, digital and paper resources, verbiage, and other appropriate materials around fundraising, programming, outreach, communications, advisory council management, etc. for program sites; - Serve as an additional liaison between the regional office team with program leadership and staff at each of the sites; - Research and seek opportunities for establishing collaborative relationships service providers, associations, or organizations that align with Horizons Atlanta’s work.
