Neighboring Movement Project Coordination VISTA
 
 
 
In 2015, co-founder, Adam filed for non-profit status as SoCe Life to create good neighbors in south central (SoCe) in Wichita, KS. In November of 2015 received a significant grant from the Knight Foundation via the Wichita Community Foundation allowing the organization to legitimize their work. Next year, Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) became a passion and began to really shape everyday to establish the Neighboring Movement in SoCe life. In 2017, SoCe Life officially moved to Neighboring Movement.org to solidify the mission of launching a national neighboring movement with exponential life and began creating content to help the world learn to neighbor. Neighboring Movement.org by SoCe Life researches, practices and teaches about neighboring. The organization is seeking out neighboring initiatives around the country to study the best practices of good neighboring in the South Central (SoCe) neighborhood of Wichita, KS. The Neighborhood Movement packages organizational knowledge and share with individuals, communities, and organizations who want to be better neighbors.

Member Duties : The Project Coordination AmeriCorps VISTA will support the Neighboring Movement in its mission of community transformation through the practice of neighboring. The Neighboring Movement focuses on the South Central Neighborhood of Wichita, KS. Residents in this area have lower levels of income, education, and civic engagement. The programs the AmeriCorps Vista will support will help address these concerns through Asset Based Community Development. In this role, the Vista will develop community data and assess community resources utilizing volunteers. The VISTA recruits and train them to conduct survey, find needs and connect neighbours. Corrected data should be used to help the community share useful resources and information to thrive their life.
