ShareCorps - WARM - Child Nutrition Associate

WARM helps people get out of poverty by providing resources and support to help individuals become self-sufficient. WARM operates a Choice Pantry, utility assistance, coaching, and workforce development for families, and WARM's Child Nutrition program reaches out to the community to serve children directly. Child Nutrition has a two-tiered approach to food security for children: Share Bac a Pac and Kids Lunch Club. WARM's Share Bac a Pac (SBAP) program provides 350 nutritious, shelf-stable meals for children to take home from school and eat over weekends. Kids Lunch Club operates 10 sites during the summer to provide free lunches and enrichment activities for children.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will be responsible for building the capacity of child nutrition programs by cultivating partnerships with local schools and businesses and leveraging community support for WARM's Child Nutrition programs. Increasing outreach and education to the community on growing suburban hunger in Westerville and the effects of child hunger will be key in this process. Mobilizing community support to volunteer and donate will increase our capacity to serve more children in our programs. The VISTA will also be responsible for developing new volunteer systems and assess ways to diversify and improve the content of the meals we serve through Share Bac a Pac.
