Education Alliance College Ambassadors
 
 
 
West Virginia students are looking for you! Are you passionate about education in West Virginia? Join the Education Alliance College Ambassador team to help spread the word that West Virginia offers tuition free community college! College Ambassadors are helping increase the college going rate by providing potential students support and information about college access. College Ambassadors are placed around the state on community college campuses to help students complete the application and enrollment process. The vision of The Education Alliance is that every West Virginia public school student will graduate high school and be ready to begin a career or pursue additional education and training. College Ambassadors complete 675 hours of service (21 hours per week) during an 8-month period of time. College Ambassador members receive a $2,626.27 education award and $6,987 per term living allowance. Positions are available in Beaver, Charleston, Chapmanville, Fairmont, Huntington, Moorefield, Mount Gay, Parkersburg, and Wheeling West Virginia. College Ambassadors is a program of The Education Alliance in partnership with the West Virginia Community and Technical System. The Education Alliance is a statewide nonprofit organization that operates programs and advances policies to improve achievement by public school students in West Virginia. The West Virginia Technical College System coordinates community and technical colleges in the state of West Virginia, partnering with businesses to meet workforce needs, and ensuring a meaningful education for students.

Member Duties : College Ambassadors serve as a coach for high school seniors and adults by supporting the college application process. The ambassadors meet regularly with interested students to identify an institution, apply for college, complete the FASFA, and facilitate pre-college enrollment activities such as campus tours. Members leverage the support of community volunteers from local business and community organizations to engage students in college and career exploration activities.
