City of Lakes AmeriCorps - Academic Coach (Sept start)

City of Lakes AmeriCorps (CoL) is one of the oldest AmeriCorps programs in the Twin Cities. For almost 25 years, our members have served the youth of Minneapolis. Specifically, a CoL Academic Coach engages and empowers Long-Term English Learner students (LTELs) in their academic English development through intentional interactions, research-based strategies, family engagement, and youth development best practices. CoL members gain unparalleled hands-on experience working with students, teachers, families, and fellow corps members. They serve as a cohort of emerging leaders who focus on developing their professional and interpersonal skills while exploring the fields of education and youth development within the context of a large urban school system. Somali, Spanish and Hmong speakers are particularly desired. Please visit http://col.mpls.k12.mn.us to learn more!
