24-25 Walla Walla Public Schools Academic Support Specialist
 
 
 
This is an AmeriCorps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. Walla Walla Public Schools is located in the southeast corner of Washington. We are a diverse and high performing district. Members will provide targeted reading and math interventions before, during, and after school. Members will also coordinate food distribution efforts to reduce food insecurity. We expect to begin rolling review of application and interviews in late November. Start dates may be available January – February. Monthly stipend amount: $2,276.

Member Duties : The Academic Support Specialist will help us make sure every student receives the targeted support they need to achieve their full potential. They will provide individual and small group reading and math interventions; support summer credit retrieval programs; coordinate supplemental food distribution to families in need; collaborate with staff to integrate social emotional learning and trauma-informed practices into interventions; participate in training and professional development opportunities; collect and analyze data to track academic progress.
