Resident Services Coordinator

NeighborWorks Boise (NWB) is a nationally recognized non-profit affordable housing association. Known for community engagement volunteer events such as, Rake Up Boise™ and Paint The Town™. Through these events each year, approximately 8,000 volunteers paint homes and rake and winterize the yards of over 750 low- to moderate-income senior and disabled homeowners. As the Resident Services Coordinator, the VISTA will work to create a plan of sustainability for NWB's multifamily properties for the current Resident Services program. This member needs to be able to work with a diverse population, a wide variety of community partners, enjoy community outreach and have the ability to manage several projects simultaneously. The work of the VISTA will directly impact families in our community. From the excited look on a child's face when you tell them about a new summer camp we will be offering, to witnessing the improvement of a resident who is attending ESL classes, this job is extremely rewarding! AmeriCorps Vista is a full time commitment for one year, and this is a one of a kind opportunity to serve at one of Boise's most well known affordable housing and community organizing groups. During your time with NeighborWorks Boise you will gain career and personal skills in both office and community setting. We realize it can be difficult to live off of a stipend, so NeighborWorks is able to offer other incentives including a gas card, rent assistance, and paid travel/training out of state.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will help to build a sustainability aspect to our current Resident Services Program. This will enable NeighborWorks Boise to better serve its clientele. The member will work on designing a resource manual to create sustainability and improve the resident services program which will increase the agency’s ability to support and maintain a great resident services program at the multifamily complexes. Other member activities will include research, contributions to grants, recruiting and training potential volunteers, conducting outreach, reaching out to community partners to create relationships between NWBoise and the community at large, and compiling findings into the development of a resource manual for this program to utilize. We realize it can be difficult to live off of a stipend, so NeighborWorks is able to offer other incentives including a gas card, rent assistance, and paid travel/training out of state.
