Youth Conservation Corps - Career Success Support Specialist
 
 
 
YCC is a community, non-profit organization which provides a year-round YouthBuild program, in which opportunity youth ages 16-24 who are disconnected from school and employment are able to complete their high school education and earn industry recognized certifications. YouthBuild provides an evidence-based, holistic and comprehensive youth program including education, occupational skill training, life skills, employability skills, leadership and placement into college and careers. Additional youth intervention services include trauma-informed programming and onsite mental health services. YCC also provides supportive services including case management, uniforms, food, transportation, and stipends. YCC delivers a life skills education to prepare participants for success in school, careers, and life. Participants explore skills including managing stress, communication, time management, relationships, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. *We anticipate position becoming available in late Fall 2024.

Member Duties : The VISTA Career Success Support Specialist will work with the Career Success team to ensure that members become employed, receive regular follow-up services and are able to achieve the career and life skills to maintain employment after they have graduated from the program. The VISTA Career Success Support Specialist will: • Assist Placement and Alumni Manager in establishing a system of regular contact with alumni to track employment. • Establish a database of potential employers and positions they want to fill to provide up-to-date employment opportunities for members. • Work with Placement and Alumni Manager and Career Success team to create a standardized record of professional goals and record of member progress towards career success. • Develop a system of scheduling and follow-up for our employer speaker series and employer advisory board. • Work with Placement and Alumni Manager in the development and organization of an Employer Advisory Council.
