PCCC Leadership Development VISTA Fellow
 
 
 
Passaic County Community College (PCCC) is looking for an AmeriCorps Leadership Development VISTA Fellow. PCCC operates four campus locations throughout Passaic County, with its main campus located in Paterson, NJ. Paterson, known as the “silk city” is also home to the Great Falls/Great Falls National Historic Park, a well-known landmark. Culturally diverse, Paterson remains a destination city for newly arrived immigrants. PCCC enrolls over 13,000 students, offers over 60 degree and career programs, as well as continuing education & community based programs. The mission of PCCC is to offer high-quality, flexible, educational & cultural programs that meet the needs of Passaic County residents. As a Leadership Development Vista Fellow, you will help the Men of Color Success Initiative scale up leadership development efforts. Disseminating best practices in leadership development, developing and implementing a comprehensive leadership training program for mentors and volunteers, and engaging campus partners in facilitating leadership training seminars are just some of the key activities of this position. We are looking for someone with great communication and leadership skills, who values teamwork, and enjoys working with students and leaders. Member Duties : •Research/disseminate best practices in leadership development and training for students; •Develop a comprehensive leadership training program for program mentors/volunteers, with an emphasis on cultural awareness, competence, effective communication, and conflict resolution; •Engage campus partners in facilitating leadership training seminars, including culturally responsive leadership training, for program mentors and volunteers; •Monitor participation of members of MOCSI, program ambassadors, and other PCCC students in leadership development workshops and non-service student engagement events; •Document/evaluate leadership development workshops and other non-service student engagement events; •Work with staff to apply for funding to ensure program sustainability; •Help organize leadership summits; •Provide monthly progress reports & participate in program evaluation; •Participate in training/ professional development activities; and •Serve on campus committees.
