Families Plus Community Outreach Coordinator VISTA

For 22 years, Families Plus has provided much needed wraparound services to families experiencing long term challenges. We have developed a model program to help children in poverty that is gaining national recognition and leading the way in Colorado by providing comprehensive health care to children in very difficult circumstances. In April of 2018 we were named a “Champion Program for Innovation” selected out of one hundred federally funded programs. Our strong and enthusiastic staff is seeking an energetic individual to lead outreach efforts in the community to recruit volunteers and create community awareness about the need for community-based health care for vulnerable children.Delta County is located on the Western Slope of Colorado. Our office is located in Delta, Colorado, approximately 40 minutes south of Grand Junction. The county consists of small rural towns with strong community ties. Delta provides year-round outdoor recreational activities in all directions: Canyons to the west, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park to the south, the Grand Mesa to the North, and West Elk Mountains to the east. We are in the heart of the great outdoors with spectacular scenery, great climate, skiing, boarding, rafting, fishing, biking, hiking and hunting. We are Colorado’s garden with orchards, vineyards, and world famous Olathe sweet corn for the picking.
