Access to Books Summer Associate
 
 
 
The Access to Books Coordinator will serve with Storytime Village to expand access to high-quality books for children and families across Wichita. This role focuses on book distribution, inventory coordination, and supporting literacy programs such as LEAP Camp and Storytime in the Park. The Summer Associate will help ensure that every child served has access to books at home, supporting efforts to build strong reading habits and family literacy engagement.

Member Duties : Supports literacy programming by ensuring all participating students have access to materials used in reading instruction: - Distribute books during literacy programming (LEAP Camp, Storytime in the Park) to support student participation in reading activities - Support literacy sessions by ensuring students have appropriate books for guided reading and engagement - Reinforce reading activities by encouraging students to use distributed books during and after programming - Assist volunteers and staff (literacy facilitators) by preparing materials used in reading instruction - Monitor student participation in reading activities supported by book access (ED5) - Track number of students receiving books and participating in literacy programming (ED1) - Support family literacy by ensuring children take books home for continued reading practice
