COAD's mission is to provide a unified voice for the Community Action Agencies of Appalachian Ohio and the constituents they serve, primarily low-income families, children, and senior citizens, The mission of COAD/RSVP of the Ohio Valley is to provide high-quality volunteer management which engages the community in service, in a variety of programs which ensure healthy futures for those we serve. We focus our efforts on collaborating with our community partners to create and manage high quality programs designed to reduce the hurtful effects of food insecurity and poverty among our region's most vulnerable citizens. Our volunteers serve in the Appalachian Counties of Ohio, which are among those with the highest prevalence of poverty in our State.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will develop systems to create and enhance sustainable services provided by COAD/RSVP, specifically the organization's anti-hunger programs for children and low-income households in the rural counties of southeastern Ohio. The development of these services will lead to the creation of enduring programs that reduce the hurtful effects of generational poverty in the region. The VISTA will also improve processes for our summer feeding/summer rural meal delivery and weekend meal programs for low-income youth. **Benefits include a $200 housing stipend to supplement living costs.**
