Community & Refugee Immigration Services - Engagement VISTA

Community Refugee & Immigration Services (CRIS) is an independent non-profit organization that serves the growing refugee and immigrant populations in central Ohio. We have staff members from all over the world who speak a multitude of different languages. CRIS helps refugees, immigrants, and asylees find a pathway to thriving, from stability to self-sufficiency to successful integration. Our resettlement program directly receives and places refugees from all over the world in our community, and our various other services focus on employment, English language, mentorship, the justice system, access to healthcare, civics education, immigration legal services, and more.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will be serving closely with CRIS staff on initiatives related to community education, volunteer recruitment and coordination, fundraising, and partnership-building. The member will recruit, train, and retain volunteers and donors. The member will also empower our supporters to make as big an impact on the community as possible. They will innovate and improve programs for effectively addressing the food, financial, medical, social, and other needs experienced by many newly-arrived refugees. The VISTA member will work closely with the CRIS Staff on these objectives, but there will be significant room for creativity and individual responsibility on the part of the VISTA member.
