Working In Neighborhoods 2021 VISTA

Working In Neighborhoods’ (WIN) “empowers people to make informed choices for themselves and their neighborhoods through community building, home ownership, and economic learning.” Since 1978, WIN has worked to build sustainable communities on a foundation community leadership. We believe that residents, especially in communities that have been dis-invested and underserved, must have a say in the decision-making process that shapes future development in their neighborhood. WIN’s VISTA member will build the capacity of residents and community groups in the Beekman Corridor to implement projects that improve fresh food access and community health, increase climate resiliency, and promote equitable redevelopment & investment in the community. The VISTA’s role will include partnership development, volunteer recruitment, and community outreach to connect residents with resources, training, and technical assistance for neighborhood-led projects and initiatives.
