Member Duties : Members who serve in the program receive extensive orientation, mentoring, and guidance in exploring the public health field as a career. They help meet locally identified needs at health agencies across the state through community service in three primary focus areas: health promotion, education, and outreach; volunteer coordination; and assistance with community emergency preparedness. Depending on which health agency the member is placed at, the scope of project work will vary but may include such activities as school health programs, violence prevention programs, health fairs, trauma-informed care initiatives, healthy cooking programs, marketing/social media, tobacco prevention, emergency preparedness, health education, outreach/assessment and so much more.
