| Member Duties : Peers are remarkably successful at helping patients improve health. In this project, you will support community members struggling to control their chronic conditions. We will train you in Chronic Pain Management, Motivational Interviewing and other evidence-based programs. We will help you get certified as a Peer Support Specialist (WV), a Peer Recovery Supporter (OH), and/or a Community Health Worker. You will increase access to care for the patients you serve and provide one-on-one health education services. AmeriCorps members do not provide health services related to prohibited items or activities, including abortion referrals or services, as will be outlined in detail during orientation. We have seen health miracles happen with this type of care. We are looking for AmeriCorps members in Wood, Hardy, Pleasants, Ritchie, Calhoun, Wirt, Jackson, and Roane Counties in WV and Washington, Meigs, Gallia, Vinton and Jackson Counties in OH.
