Member Duties :
The member will be serving with Foodchain as the host site where they will be serving 300 hours during their service time. The first half of the service term will be spent in the workforce development program where the members will learn kitchen skills that will provide skills to apply across the food sector. The members will also receive a food handlers permit, a knife set and a uniform. Once the workforce development program is complete members will work with GleanKY and collaborate with other local food justice organizations such as Seedleaf and Tweens .The member will assist in gleaning and converting produce into nutritious food distributed to families in need. The food will then be delivered to local food banks and neighborhood ambassadors for distribution to the community.
