*Rural Dynamics - Southwest Habitat 4 Humanity

The National Affordable Housing Network (NAHN) and Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Montana have partnered to provide safe, affordable, high-performance housing to the region for more than 20 years through a variety of housing programs, including Mutual Self-Help Housing, the Neighborhood Stabilization Programs, “A Brush with Kindness” and other community programs. Our mission is to empower the underserved by helping them to achieve the dream of homeownership. We also provide educational and job training opportunities in home construction and neighborhood redevelopment. We build primarily super-insulated high performance house plans that are affordable to operate. Habitat’s “ReStore” program has just gotten off the ground in a new location in 2021, and NAHN is working to support Habitat’s transition to a sustainable, perpetual ReStore program. ReStores are retail locations of Habitat for Humanity affiliates where donated recycled building materials are sold at discounted prices. All proceeds of the ReStore are then used by the Habitat Affiliate to reinvest in the housing programs. These funds generated by the ReStore will build further capacity for our programs in the communities we serve.
