Hopewell Music Cooperative - Donor Relations Project (LitMN)
Becoming a Literacy Leader at Hopewell means you will gain useful nonprofit grant writing and fundraising experience. Working closely with the Program Director and Development Officer, participating in administrative meetings, and leading exciting projects, Hopewell’s Literacy Leader gets an up-close view of how a small arts nonprofit is run from a programming, fundraising and operating perspective. This position also offers the Literacy Leader a valuable opportunity to network with musicians, creators, non-profit professionals and educators in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area. Hopewell is the only comprehensive music school in North Minneapolis, filling an opportunity gap of accessible and affordable music education in one of the most underserved communities in the Twin Cities. Member Duties : The Literacy Leader will help sustain Hopewell’s programming by creating infrastructure for a robust individual donor program, which includes our annual Give to the Max Day and Year End Giving Campaigns. This process includes researching best practices in donor management; developing campaign materials; creating donor events and participating in the recruitment; hiring and training of a donor manager. Additionally the Literacy Leader will participate in grant research, editing grants and researching corporate sponsors. Through this work, we will be able to make progress on multiple initiatives from our Strategic Plan centered on inclusivity, sustaining mission impact and increasing the effectiveness of organizational infrastructure. This project would be instrumental in achieving these objectives by building our development infrastructure and increasing our financial ability to fulfill our mission. Because of this work, the community will have more equitable access to music education.
