Feeding Texas leads a unified effort for a hunger-free Texas. We assist hungry Texans through a statewide network of twenty-one food banks, lead the public discussion on hunger in Texas, and strengthen the anti-hunger movement through collaboration and capacity-building. Summer Associates support a diverse range of programs responding to critical community needs, with the goal of increasing food security, improving health, and advancing equity.

Member Duties : As the Summer Associate at the Tarrant Area Food Bank, you will work with the Community Nutrition Department to increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables through the Tarrant Area Food Bank’s Farmers Markets, Community Gardens, and Youth Camps. Projects will include training and coordinating volunteers, providing logistical support to program staff, and supporting garden production, nutrition education, and WIC farmers market voucher issuance. We are currently recruiting for 1 position to serve in-person at the Tarrant Area Food Bank in Fort Worth, TX. This work will strengthen the food banks’ capacity to provide valuable programs for the communities served.
