ShareCorps- Lodi Family Center Summer Associate

Lodi Family Center is partnering with NASA and local teachers, chefs, artists, engineers, and community leaders to offer a safe place for kids to come have a free healthy meal, participate in experimental learning activities and have fun with friends. Join the team and help us make sure no child goes hungry in an area with 52% poverty rate. Our summer experience will engage kids through technology, the arts and indoor/outdoor play. Successful candidates will have a heart for helping children and the ability to help them feel valued, welcome and want to come back. So come share you talents while helping others from our community share theirs. Since research shows free lunches actually does have a payoff, you will be able to help break the cycle of poverty. Together we can give a "hands up" to our young future leaders!

Member Duties : Lodi Family Center is seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with children of all ages. VISTA members would be helping provide a fun, interactive and healthy place for kids. They would work with volunteers to offer a free meal and a variety of activities that kids would enjoy through a combination of online-learning and in-person. This position is all about connecting with kids, playing with LEGOS, playing games, and filling up bellies! Of course there is some work and data collection required, but we would love for the "work time" to be less than the "play time". Have an impact on a child's life this summer!
