The Thea Bowman Center is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering residents of Cleveland's Mt. Pleasant neighborhood through programs in community education, youth engagement, and health and wellness. We offer hot meals, emergency food, and are a full service food pantry. We provide educational support, digital literacy, and life skills programming to help community members build knowledge and confidence. Our youth engagement initiatives offer mentorship, leadership development, and enrichment activities that inspire growth, resilience, and civic participation. In health and wellness, we focus on promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being through accessible programs and resources that encourage healthy lifestyles.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will build Thea Bowman Center’s capacity to expand workforce development and economic stability programs. They will create and implement systems for participant intake, referral tracking, and data management, conducting community assessments to identify workforce needs and service gaps. They will also train staff and volunteers on new processes, strengthening partnerships, tracking outcomes, and developing tools to ensure programs are sustainable beyond their term. This role is ideal for someone interested in capacity-building, community engagement, and improving economic opportunities for working-age adults and families.
