ShareCorps - ETSS - Advancement Associate

The mission of ETSS is to move individuals and families out of poverty through education, job opportunities, and by addressing the various barriers faced by immigrants and refugees. By raising dollars and awareness with the public and private sectors, ETSS provides programs and services that lead to self-sufficiency and successful integration into Central Ohio communities. The role of the VISTA is to contribute to these efforts by ETSS, particularly via our Advancement Department, through skills that emphasize organization, recruitment, social and other media outreach and documentation. Through various fundraising events (Evening of Promise, Youth Summit, Auction, and others), the creativity provided by the VISTA team member will contribute to the overall financial security of ETSS and therefore the programs that reach our clients and help them achieve economic and personal independence. Additionally, work involving volunteers, garden development, and support of other food provisions contributes to the health and wellbeing of ETSS clients. The role of the VISTA team member is an essential one for ETSS and strengthens our infrastructure, thus allowing ETSS to grow and successfully reach the needs of more clients in Central Ohio. THE ETSS philosophy of TEWAHEDO (to come together as one) is a holistic approach to services, with each person contributing skills and passion to address the myriad issues faced by New Americans. We view the VISTA member as fully engaged in this process.
