Fundraising and Development VISTA
 
 
 
Since its beginning in 2009, Storytime Village has worked to help the youngest in our communities thrive through partnerships that provide early childhood development, family engagement around reading and access to books. The Fundraising & Development VISTA will serve to support the expansion and function of Stortyime Village during this period of growth. The Development VISTA will build the capacity of the organization through the exploration of available community resources and the creation of grant proposals. The position will also include planning fundraising and donor acknowledgment events.

Member Duties : 1. Build and improve tools and systems that enhance Storytime Village’s effectiveness in generating revenue through grants, earned income opportunities, and donations. 2. Set up outreach systems and build partnerships with community organizations, and then develop targeted marketing materials, to expand fundraising opportunities A. Create and deliver presentations on the organization, its programs’ impact in the community, needs, and opportunities for the community to support the project financially 3. Research and pursue grants and funding opportunities through foundations, corporations, earned income, and donor gifts. A. Write and submit grants and related reports for various projects B. Participate in grant writing workshops C. Make direct donation requests to meet programmatic needs D. Organize and manage quarterly fundraising events that provide educational opportunities for the population served E. Develop a fundraising strategy for key quarterly events
