Soldiers Project Communications and Marketing Coordinator

The Soldiers Project (TSP) provides free, confidential and unlimited mental health services to Post 9/11 military service members, veterans and their loved ones, regardless of discharge status or combat experience. These services are provided by licensed clinicians who volunteer their time pro bono. In 2018, the core program is expanding to include clinical interns who pre-licensure, in order to meet growing demand for services. In addition, TSP will be adding a Peer Support program in 2018 to provide wraparound support for core mental health services. This program will recruit, train and provide veterans and family members the opportunity to 'pay it forward' by helping other veterans navigate available community resources including legal, education, healthcare, housing, VA benefits and employment. This VISTA position will be a great opportunity to get your feet wet as a Social Media manager. Do you love content creation? Are you strategic? Can you tell a long story by breaking it up into smaller pieces? Are you excited about brand creation? Do you want to have your creative input on the rollout of a new program that has the ability to scale nationally? Then this is the position for you. We're looking for a great writer that works quickly and has a high level of attention to detail. We want your voice to become ours. In addition, you will be able to take the lead on our Pay It Forward campaign, which will allow those who have received care from our organization learn how to speak about their journey to healing and to encourage others to give to pay it forward for the next generation of veterans. The VISTA is involved in the creation and updating of all brand marketing collateral, supports the creation of the Annual Report, manages social media and editorial calendar, and supports fundraising events. The VISTA also supports Salesforce Donor Database, and works in Mailchimp, Eventbrite and Canva. Training will be provided for all software required.

Member Duties : This VISTA position will continue to strengthen the core service delivery of free mental health services for military veterans by assisting in the branding and awareness of the Peer Support and Clinical Intern Programs, resulting in more volunteers for both program and donor support. The position will build upon the first year VISTA position with implementation of marketing campaigns to support TSP's core services, including mental health service delivery and peer support rollout, as well as the Pay it Forward campaign. In addition, the VISTA will maintain all social media channels, and create a veteran blogger corps that will contribute content to TSP's website. Finally, the VISTA will have to opportunity to support target audience research including focus group support, online polls, surveys, etc. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about using marketing and communications to change a national conversation and make a difference.
