North 5 Street Revitalization Project Coordinator

The North 5th Street Revitalization Project N5SRP at the Korean Community Development Services Center enhances the quality of life for the merchants and residents in Philadelphia's Olney neighborhood by maintaining a clean and safe environment in the North 5th Street commercial district and promoting and planning and advocating for the district. The N5SRP focuses on 4 interrelated community economic development programs: 1. improving and maintaining the physical environment by addressing the district's physical design needs through façade and streetscape improvement and maintenance; 2. increasing the level of public safety by implementing crime prevention measures and educating merchants about public safety issues; 3. fostering economic activity and opportunity by supporting existing businesses through marketing and technical assistance and identifying and attracting new and viable economic uses; and 4. building community ties among residents and merchants through community service and artistic/cultural events. The project primarily serves the segment of North 5th Street from W. Spencer Street, 6100 N. 5th Street, to the railroad bridge just below W. Somerville Avenue, 5400 N. 5th Street, and the area within one block on either side of this segment.
