EPFHFB Summer Associate VISTA - Feeding Texas [El Paso, TX]
 
 
 
Feeding Texas leads a unified effort for a hunger-free Texas. We assist hungry Texans through a statewide network of twenty-one food banks, lead the public discussion on hunger in Texas, and strengthen the anti-hunger movement through collaboration and capacity-building. Summer Associates support a diverse range of programs responding to critical community needs, with the goal of increasing food security, improving health, and advancing equity.

Member Duties : As one of the Summer Associates at the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank, you will support the outreach efforts of the Benefits Outreach Department to ensure the community is aware of the benefits they are eligible to receive and have assistance applying for those programs. Projects will include reaching out to partners to connect clients with important resources and increasing the effectiveness of outreach programs by developing referral partnerships where you will make presentations and schedule application assistance to ensure a complete application is submitted and staff can assist with any questions. We are currently recruiting for 3 positions to serve in-person at the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank in El Paso, TX. This work will strengthen the food banks’ capacity to provide valuable programs for the communities served.
