SPFB Summer Associate VISTA - Feeding Texas [Lubbock, TX]
 
 
 
Feeding Texas leads a unified effort for a hunger-free Texas. We assist hungry Texans through a statewide network of twenty-one food banks, lead the public discussion on hunger in Texas, and strengthen the anti-hunger movement through collaboration and capacity-building. Summer Associates support a diverse range of programs responding to critical community needs, with the goal of increasing food security, improving health, and advancing equity.

Member Duties : As one of the Summer Associates at the South Plains Food Bank, you will provide vital capacity to support the operations of the Kitchen of Hope, GRUB, and Community Impact Departments. Projects will include assisting clients with enrollment in food assistance programs, maintaining client records, maximizing relationships with current and potential program partners, providing life skills and job training to young adults using the Food Bank’s Farm and Community Garden, and aiding in daily tasks to deliver summer meals to youth in the community. We are currently recruiting for 10 positions to serve in-person at the South Plains Food Bank in Lubbock, TX. This work will strengthen the food banks’ capacity to provide valuable programs for the communities served.
