HFB Summer Associate VISTA - Feeding Texas [Houston, TX]
 
 
 
Feeding Texas leads a unified effort for a hunger-free Texas. We assist hungry Texans through a statewide network of twenty-one food banks, lead the public discussion on hunger in Texas, and strengthen the anti-hunger movement through collaboration and capacity-building. Summer Associates support a diverse range of programs responding to critical community needs, with the goal of increasing food security, improving health, and advancing equity.

Member Duties : As one of the Summer Associates at the Houston Food Bank, you will provide vital capacity to support the operations of the Partner Services, Food for Change, Volunteer Services, and Community Assistance Departments. Projects will include developing a process to profile and segment each member of the Houston Food Bank’s partner network, supporting ongoing relationships with Food for Change Markets, assisting with customer service efforts to welcome guests and volunteers, coordinating partners to provide logistical support to program staff, and aiding communications and documentation efforts. We are currently recruiting for 4 positions to serve in-person at the Houston Food Bank in Houston, TX. This work will strengthen the food banks’ capacity to provide valuable programs for the communities served.
