CSU San Marcos - Cultura STEM Pathways Specialist

Do you enjoy being in an inclusive and culturally enriching environment? Do you have a passion to assist the Latin@/x community’s STEM retention rates? If so, the Latin@/x Center at CSUSM is hiring a Cultura STEM Pathways Specialist that would help you excel with your skillset. The Latin@/x Center is one of five Student Life Centers for Identity, Inclusion & Empowerment at CSUSM. We aim to educate students about the Latin@/x/Hispanic culture and spread awareness concerning relevant social issues the community faces. This equips students with the knowledge and understanding to disperse to others and foster self-advocacy. This role is part of the CSU STEM VISTA program. As a member of this cohort, you will take part in a learning community of VISTAs across the California State University system. Our one-year program is designed to promote your growth professionally and personally as you create and enhance programs for STEM students. All projects within CSU STEM VISTA are focused on eliminating race, class, and gender disparities in STEM undergraduate graduation rates. You will be trained to utilize sustainable, asset-based approaches that engage students of color, students from low-income communities, and students who are first in their family to attend college.
