WSC, Lutheran Community Services Northwest, Financial Lit

The Lutheran Community Services Northwest Tacoma office resettles over 250 refugees in Tacoma and South King County each year. The refugee program at LCSNW Tacoma welcomes refugees from Myanmar, Somalia, Iraq, Ukraine, Afghanistan and other countries. As the Financial Literacy Specialist, you will help refugees from all over the world get a new start. Many refugees arrive with no prior banking or credit experience and are vulnerable to scams and identity theft. The Financial Literacy Specialist helps refugees to become more self-sufficient by giving them the tools they need to manage their finances. In this position, you’ll offer your expertise and guidance on topics including banking, credit, avoiding financial scams, budgeting, taxes, financial aid, and landlord-tenant relations. This is a great position for a recent college graduate or a student who wants to gain experience in the health and human services field while helping to alleviate poverty and foster self-sufficiency.
