Stanislaus State - STEM Outreach Coordinator

Do you have a passion for STEM education that you want to share with others? Do you like to collaborate with peers to provide young people access to STEM activities in the community, and be a leader of change? If so, our innovative Science in Our Community programs at Stanislaus State are for you. Science in Our Community has a program called STEM Ambassadors that gives both STEM discipline and non-STEM discipline students opportunities to develop leadership and teamwork skills, and transfer knowledge gained in the classroom out into the community. It also allows students internship opportunities and creates a network with faculty and community members. This role is part of the CSU STEM VISTA program. As a member of this cohort, you will take part in a learning community of VISTAs across the California State University system. Our one-year program is designed to promote your growth professionally and personally as you create and enhance programs for STEM students. All projects within CSU STEM VISTA are focused on eliminating race, class, and gender disparities in STEM undergraduate graduation rates. You will be trained to utilize sustainable, asset-based approaches that engage students of color, students from low-income communities, and students who are first in their family to attend college.
