Ending Homelessness…. One life at a time. Soccer, Art, music, garden are some of the innovative engagement programs that the Urban Ministry Center employs to fulfill its mission: to bring the community together to end homelessness… one life at a time. Located in Charlotte North Carolina, the Urban Ministry Center serves over 500 homeless people a day. We are seeking a VISTA member who will build community partnerships, develop marketing materials, recruit volunteers and build the capacity of new program initiatives to support our Community works program that involves our homeless neighbors in art, soccer, garden and life skills to take them out of homelessness. Member Duties : Marketing and promoting our program within the Charlotte community will be one of the primary duties of the VISTA member. We also are looking for volunteer recruitment, training and retention and the ability to create a tracking system for volunteers and for program success that can be used in fund raising and program promotion. The ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding work environment that serves the homeless population is important.
