CSU East Bay - STEM Faculty Liaison
 
 
 
Are equity and inclusion in STEM important to you? Are you a creative, collaborative agent of change? If so, you just might be the STEM Faculty Liaison the CSU East Bay’s College of Science is seeking! The STEM Learning Collaborative focuses on increasing equity strategies within the Math and STEM Lab, which is a community that provides academic and social peer support for students to promote social studying and increase retention in STEM. This role is part of the CSU STEM VISTA program. As a member of this cohort, you will take part in a learning community of VISTAs across the California State University system. Our one-year program is designed to promote your growth professionally and personally as you create and enhance programs for STEM students. All projects within CSU STEM VISTA are focused on eliminating race, class, and gender disparities in STEM undergraduate graduation rates. You will be trained to utilize sustainable, asset-based approaches that engage students of color, students from low-income communities, and students who are first in their family to attend college.

Member Duties : As the STEM Faculty Liaison, you will conduct independent research on equity and asset-based pedagogy. You will collaborate with faculty and undergraduate Learning Assistants to creatively modify active learning strategies in gateway STEM courses to be more equitable. In addition to disseminating resources and providing training, you will consult with selected science departments to launch and develop customized equity plans. Apply today!
