YouthBuild Alumni & Communications VISTA- Portland, ME

LearningWorks reimagines learning through innovative programs that help children, families, and adults realize their potential and build thriving communities. LearningWorks YouthBuild provides the young adults we work with an individualized educational curriculum, vocational programming in construction, culinary arts and hospitality, leadership development, and career support all from our location in the heart of the vibrant city of Portland. We have served young people in our local communities for over 25 years and currently enroll 30 students from incredibly diverse backgrounds each year. We have an amazing staff team that is cohesive, collaborative, and committed to the youth we support.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will collaborate with program staff to further develop our alumni program, including the planning and execution of alumni events, creating alumni specific communications and developing an alumni speakers' bureau. The VISTA will also be involved in development activities to help support this alumni work. The second area of focus will be on Communications and Data Management. The VISTA will work with program staff to evaluate internal and external communications, formulate a plan for social media and recruitment communication and assist in the creation of both printed and electronic communications materials throughout the year. The VISTA member will also oversee and update both our external partnership database and our participant information system, supporting and training staff.
