Wyoming is known for its magnificent vistas. We're pretty fond of our VISTAs as well. Life was tough for the first pioneers to settle here and for some, it still is. The goal of Head Start is to end the cycle of poverty by giving children the tools to become successful in school. Absaroka, Inc. is a Head Start administrator. We serve 10 communities in the greater north-central Wyoming area where we provide in-center preschool and home based Early Head Start services. Member Duties : Grant Writing, Fund Raising, Partnership Building and Family Recruiting are the cornerstones of non-profits. We are looking for someone with these skills to come and build the capacity of our organization. Even if you are currently without some of these skills but have enthusiasm and the motivation to learn, we would like to hear from you. If you are just starting out, this is an amazing chance to help children and families living in poverty while jump-starting your career. You will be given the opportunity to build your resume on a professional level. If you are not just starting out and have years of experience, we would like your help to improve our programs. This is an AmeriCorps VISTA capacity building position lasting one year, with the possibility of a second term. It is indirect service, meaning that rather than helping individual students, your focus will be to help the organization better serve many children.
