Indy AfterSchool Corps Education Director
 
 
 
Indy AfterSchool Corps members serve in after school programs at community-based service sites in areas of high poverty. Education Directors are responsible for providing daily service the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis, and sharing experience and volunteer opportunities. Roles and responsibilities will vary by service site. Responsibilities include: development and implementation of academic enrichment programs; supervision of state-funded literacy and numeracy program; supervision and implementation of Power Hour homework/tutoring program; some recruitment and management of volunteers; relationship development with key staff at feeder schools; administration of evaluation tools to measure increases in academic success through data collection; tracking of youth participation; and spreading visibility of the AmeriCorps program within the service site community.

Member Duties : Education Directors will provide direct support services to after school programs to ensure quality production of academic success and job readiness programs. Education Directors will develop and implement education programs with youth and will support the club team through implementation of programs and activities. Training and continual support will be provided by the program and club community, especially related to youth development safety and programming.
