American YouthWorks' YouthBuild (AYW-YB) program is a leader in combining green building, affordable housing, and education to empower unemployed youth ages 16-24 who are out of school. Through the program, participants work toward their GED or high school diploma while gaining hands-on job training and developing personal skills. Students split their day between classroom learning and real-world training on construction sites. This full-time AmeriCorps position requires 1,700 hours of service (Monday-Friday, 8-5) and offers a monthly stipend of $2,400, health benefits, and an education award. Applicants should have prior construction experience, leadership skills, and ideally, at least six months of service with AmeriCorps or a similar organization.
