Disaster Preparedness Public Education Outreach
 
 
 
The Disaster Preparedness Public Education Outreach project will focus on developing and implementing disaster preparedness programs in low income areas of Pacific County. The project will include coordinating Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Map Your Neighborhood (MYN) training and programs, building partnerships with area businesses and schools, developing emergency response resource lists and contacts, and building capabilities for the access and functional needs population.

Member Duties : • The member will be expected to report to the service site daily as scheduled to support the Disaster Preparedness Public Education Outreach project serving both in an office setting and in the public. • The member will conduct research, coordinate outreach, develop partnerships with local organizations, develop and deliver disaster preparedness presentations, and coordinate CERT training and MYN community programs. • The member will facilitate training of 200 individuals in disaster preparedness. • The member will administer post testing to determine the number of individuals participating in training who increase their knowledge in being able to personally respond to a disaster. • The member will track and report outcomes of training.
