12 HOC VISTA Forum on Youth Violence Prevention - Salinas
 
 
 
Create sustainable and support existing youth violence prevention projects and partnerships (including local, state, federal, and community- and faith-based organizations) that will improve availability and access to: youth and gang violence prevention programming; neighborhood diversion activities; social services & family support; economic & job opportunities; and other activities that enhance general quality of life in low-income neighborhoods.

Member Duties : 1. Conduct or attend community meetings, events and activities; routinely engage with community leaders. 2. Conduct community mapping exercises and identify community assts in the City of San Jose. 3. Develop new partnerships to support and augment the success of City of Salinas youth violence prevention plan development and implementation. 4. Engage volunteers and collaborate with community partners to identify volunteer needs. 5. Raise awareness of the Forum at both a local-level and through media distribution. 6. Identify evidence-based practices in the field of youth violence prevention and brief agency partners, volunteer supervisors and volunteer team leaders on their merits and possible implementation. 7. In addition, provide CASP support to create more visibility in the community by working with the communications sub-committee.
